Wild Dagga (Leonotis leonorus)

Marihuanilla, also known as “Wild Dagga,” has a long tradition as a recreational substance in South Africa. The resinous flowers have likely been smoked for thousands of years, and the African Lion’s Ear is also recognized in folk medicine as a tea preparation. The alkaloid leonurine, responsible for the intoxicating effect, is highly water-soluble and stimulates heart muscle function.

Although Wild Dagga is used in African folk medicine for the treatment of pain and for ritual purposes, we strongly advise against consumption. We sell our Wild Dagga exclusively as an air freshener. Place approximately 10g in an aroma dish. Fill the dish with water to prevent the plant material from burning. Light a candle designed for the aroma dish and place it underneath. After about 15 minutes, the water will heat up, and the aromas will be released. Don’t forget to occasionally refill the water as it evaporates.

After about two hours, all the aromas will have been released.
